Introduction

The book of Exodus, and the events narrated in it, is probably the most significant part of the OT
-
Some parts of the story are well known but many Christians do not understand the significance of the events for themselves today
Frogs (7:25-8:15)

These events took place over a long time frame
-
The timing of the death of the frogs gave a clear demonstration that this was God's doing and not a coincidence
Gnats (16 to 19)
-
Even the court magicians recognized that this was the work of the God of Israel
-
Those who oppose God will be humiliated
Flies (20-32)
-
The flies were prevented from entering the land of Goshen ... a demonstration of divine power in the heart of Egypt
-
God used His power to protect His people even when they did not deserve it
Refection on Pharaoh's Heart

Motyer, "every choice for good or ill, goes to fashioning our characters and ... makes us answerable to the Judge of all the earth"
Application
