Introduction

The book of Exodus, and the events narrated in it, is probably the most significant part of the OT

Some parts of the story are well known but many Christians do not understand the significance of the events for themselves today
Rock Water (17:1-7)

Their journey through the wilderness was God’s route for them

Do not try to force God’s hand
Battle (17:8-15)

Moses activity was perhaps both prayer and prophetic action; the people’s destiny depended on it
Jethro (18:1-12)

Jethro became a worshipper of the LORD in response to hearing Moses testimony
Delegation (18:13-27)

There was a need for others to be released to do Moses’ work
Application

What have we learnt this morning?
