Introduction
The book of Exodus, and the events narrated in it is probably the most significant part of the Old Testament
Interpretation
Four main approaches;
- Symbol or allegory
- Historical or architectural
- The development of ideas
- Textual or literary
The Offering (25:v1-9)
- This was a freewill offering
- This marked a major change in the relationship of God to His people
The Ark (25:10-22)
- This was the most important visible sign of God’s presence with His people
The Table (25:23-30)
- Perhaps an acknowledgement that their daily bread came from God
The Lampstand (25:31-40)
- A symbol of God’s care
The Tent (26:1-37)
Application
- What have we learned this morning?
- God wants to be present at the centre of His people
